Intense Competition of Gaming Notebooks
7 August 2008As of late, gaming notebooks were traditionally built to spec by boutique manufacturers. As I recall they were not really the hottest selling notebooks but as they were the most expensive they were the greatest profit making laptops. The most sought after notebooks were the ones that were too costly to think of purchasing. Simply they were the best laptop computers about. As badly as I desired one I could not afford to buy laptop computers like them. Lately it looks likes bigger brands are all getting into the market very fast and things are shifting.
Bringing their established names into the market would probably afford them to charge even more. With such thin margins on other notebook computers its no surprise they want to be involved. Why would anybody buy laptop computers like this? I think big brands have the marketing budgets to answer that. What could local retailers possibly do if they are priced out of the market? Really what I see happening here is that the multinational manufacturers reducing prices in the beginning to get rid of the competition from littler resellers. Clearly the power of a well known brand name comes into use here.
The buzz being produced concerning the new brand name gaming notebook computers is making people see them as being the best laptop computers ever. This is in fact the core competitive selling point left for the local companies. Most of the time the pre built systems are good performers but not fast enough and a couple of consumers don’t take well to that. These particular potential customers are usually very well educated with the technology and can check each of the components by themselves. when comparing speed and aesthetics, these people usually choose the former.
All the changes are very positive from the potential buyers position. In the end it will force prices down even more and make the high end technology even more attainable for the market. I am not too sure any of that would occur however. Mobile technology is constantly getting better and the new stuff should typically be pricey initially. Larger companies have associated themselves with the gaming laptops niche and only time will tell what how this affects the market.
I think this company (http://www.rizeon.com) are pretty inexpensive for the computers they are offering.
